Newly Married!
During this time, we lived in Lombard, IL. We had been married only a month and went to a friend's birthday party. It was a nice time and I wore a brown maxi dress that I loved with a Hawaiian silk flower in my head. Very cutesy picture!
Wedding Reception
One of the many pics taken at our Wedding Reception. We did something very simple in the yard attached to the house we live in. This was a great idea since we live in Bucktown- a hip neighborhood in Chicago, IL.

Wedding Reception- 08/29/09
During the day, families had a time to meet. This is a picture of my sister- her husband and her kids. She was married about six years prior to me.
This was us after the broom jump. The broom jump is a tradition within African-American weddings to bless their union. The broom is to be placed as decoration within the home.
My husband surprised me and the guests with a mariachi band a the reception. We danced to romantic tunes in Spanish.
Our cake- square, 3 tiered with chocolate and raspberry filling. Blue buttercream frosting, chocolate shells and graham cracker crumb "sand". The taste was amazing!
