How to Bake With Heart Silicone Cupcake Molds

Silicone molds come in many creative shapes and sizes for cupcakes, cakes and muffins. Silicone molds offer many benefits including a non-stick surface, durability, and an easy to clean surface. Cupcakes fall out easily without doing damage to its shape, the pan cools down quicker when compared to other bakeware, and the flexibility of the pan makes them easy to store. Always read the instructions that come with silicone cupcake molds in order to determine the highest temperature the mold can tolerate. Never place a silicone cupcake mold onto a direct flame or heat source.

Step 1.

Prepare the cupcake batter according to the instructions in the recipe.

Step 2.

Set the oven rack so that it lays in the middle of the oven. Pre-heat the oven according to the instructions in the recipe.

Step 3.

Place the heart silicone cupcake mold on top of a cookie sheet to prevent any spillage from pouring the batter.

Step 4.

Pour the cupcake batter into the heart silicone molds. Leave about 1/4 of an inch of space on top of each mold.

Step 5.

Place the cookie sheet and mold into the oven to bake for the amount of time noted in the recipe. Check frequently to ensure the cupcakes don't burn as baking time may vary with silicone molds.

Step 6.

Remove the cookie sheet and mold from the oven after baking. Gently push up from the bottom of the mold in order to remove the cupcake from the mold.

Step 7.

Place the cupcakes on a plate to cool down. Wait a few hours or until cupcakes have cooled before decorating with icing.

To see if the cupcakes are thoroughly cooked, place a toothpick into the center of each cupcake mold and pull it out. If it pulls out clean, then the cupcakes are fully baked.


Do not use sharp utensils to remove the cupcakes. Use your hands to flex the cupcake out of the mold. When cleaning a silicone mold, do not use harsh cleansers or scrubs. Most silicone molds are dishwasher safe. Check the manufacturer's suggestions before placing the mold in the dishwasher.
