A Spring Cocktail To Lift Your Winter Blues
If you're currently fighting the winter blues, we understand. At this time of year it's easy to enter a slump; you don't feel like venturing outside in frigid weather. You snuggle up with a cup of warm tea rather than a spicy cocktail. That's why we're bringing you a spring-themed cocktail created by craft bartenders Dave Castillo and Michelle Beardon of Workshop Kitchen + Bar, a rustic yet modern restaurant located in Palm Springs, California. This cocktail named “The M-80" is exactly what you need to shake off those winter chills. Made with Reposado, tequila aged in oak barrels from 2 to 12 months, and garnished with grapefruit zest, this signature drink will make spring feel, well, closer than it actually is.
- 1.5 oz Tequila Reposado
- .5 oz Mezcal Vida
- .75 oz Simple Syrup (1:1)
- .75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- .5 oz Fresh Ginger Juice
- Grapefruit Zest
- Place all ingredients in a cocktail tin (except grapefruit zest), add ice, shake and double strain into a rocks glass with ice
- Squeeze grapefruit zest over the drink, but remove extra zest remaining around the rim of the glass by swiping with napkin or clean cloth
