Celeb Engagements: Who Will Last?

Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger and her Millionaire Matchmaker costar Destin Pfaff give their two cents on the Hollywood couples who will say “I do” this year.
  1. Prince William and Kate Middleton

He gave her his mom's ring, and he seems to genuinely love her, so it seems like they're going to make it. But she may not be cut out for the pressure of being married to a prince, and their relationship may falter under the intensity of royal life. Let's give it 51:49 odds that Waity-Katy and Wills live happily ever after.

    Probability they’ll last: 51 percent

  2. Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo

These two will probably make it. There was a brief separation but it didn't last and neither of them saw anyone else. True, they got together soon after Nick split from Jessica, but he has a moderately decent head on his shoulders, so he didn't just rush into this.

    Probability they’ll last: 80 percent

  3. LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian

When relationships start on lies, they will eventually develop back into lies. It's inevitable. One person will eventually cheat on the other. Yes, there's something to be said for finding the right person when you're with the wrong person, but in this case, she was just looking for an escape, and that's all he is to her. This one won't go the distance.

    Probability they'll last: 15 percent

  4. Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson

Not gonna happen. We all love Jessica, but she's a mess. She's been ping-ponging from guy to guy since Nick, and she's never exactly run to the hills shouting out how much she loves this guy. She even said at one point that she wasn't going to even say he was the one because she didn't want to "jinx it," which is a very meh response. As for Eric, it seems like he's just infatuated with her based on who she is. But infatuation doesn't provide a strong enough foundation to make things last. This is an altar moment that they'll try to media out by acting all happy, happy, but after a year or two, they'll get sick of the facade and split.

    Probability they'll last: 2 percent

  5. Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied

Here's the thing: It's common for an actor or actress to fall in love with a dance partner (look at Dancing with the Stars, where it happens all the time). The pair gets very intimate during a very short period of time and think they're in love -- but they're not. But Nattie P's situation is different. We haven't seen her make bad decisions, so if she's going with her gut on this one, it'll probably work out.

    Probability they'll last: 87 percent

  6. Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth

We all want things to work out this time for Reese, but the reality is it's just not going to. She tends to move fast, and she's had a couple big breakups (Ryan, Jake). Plus, she was quoted saying that Jim's a great guy who understands her career in a way that almost sounded like she was ordering a pizza. She's probably going to tire of her perfect pie after a while.

    Probability they'll last: 28 percent
