Chill Out with This Beautiful Brunch to Copy This Weekend
Even though it's September, we'll still convince ourselves that it's the middle of July. After all, only the harshest weather from the fastest winds to the coldest ice storms will ever keep us from doing brunch outdoors. And even then, we'll just take the party inside. Pass the mimosas, because this weekend you're chilling out with this unbelievable brunch from the new book A Beautiful Mess: Happy Handmade Home by Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman.
If your outside space is looking a little worse for wear, use tape (such as washi or colorful duct tape) to add pattern to an outdoor table. It's a cheap and temporary way to channel your creative side.
Impress your brunch guests with a mimosa bar. Just set out a few bottles of sparkling wine or prosecco (include a nonalcoholic option, too), and let guests mix up their own with juices like orange, grapefruit or blueberry. Top 'em off with fresh fruit slices or berries for an even tastier touch.
Add a homemade banner over the mimosa bar and food area for a colorful touch that only looks super fancy. Get the look by using tissue paper flowers and streamers -- they're creative without being too cutesy.
Not sure what to serve? Feed a crowd (in under 30 minutes) by mixing up these cinnamon and olive oil waffles. Or, you can make your life a lot easier by running to the store and picking up pre-made pastries and quiche. Because, really -- the less time you spend cooking, the more time you can spend throwing back those fizzy drinks with your girlfriends.
