When actress Christina Applegate's home flooded, causing the floors to be ruined, she never thought the outcome would be a home makeover by interior designer Laurel & Wolf. Living in the same house for 20 years, Applegate was tired of the decor, often getting frustrated by the kitchen's outdated design and lack of natural light. When the unfortunate event took place, she decided the opportunity was a blessing in disguise.

The makeover was quite the ordeal, but Applegate found the process to be stress-free thanks to her one-on-one time with Laurel & Wolf designer Jessica Today. Together they envisioned how the new kitchen would look, utilizing style boards to create a space Applegate would love. Without the influx of designers and contractors coming to her home, Applegate was able to focus on the project and communicate easily with Today.

The result? A fresh and modern kitchen that beautifully ties the home together. The white counter-tops by Caesarstone are clean, allowing for optimal cooking space. Kohler fixtures are featured throughout, along with Ann Sacks tile and tableware by Table + Dine. The white walls help the kitchen to appear larger, allowing for a brighter and happier space.

The new dining area is warm, showcasing artwork done by Applegate's daughter. Multiple chairs plus a bench allow for tons of seating perfect for big family dinners, something Applegate cherishes. She can now cook more elaborate meals on her spacious counter-top, while chatting with family and friends seated at the table.

The mudroom provides the perfect space to house everyday items, including shoes, jackets, keys, and kitchen accessories. Pops of color make the room fun, plus hanging hooks placed strategically throughout allow for even more storage.

The laundry room is sleek with white cabinets, allowing Applegate to stay organized while cleaning up after her family. Detergents stored within the cabinets frees up counter space, plus towels kept in wicker baskets allow for easy clean-up of any spills or messes.
