Transform those boring plain tumblers at home with a touch of mid-century style (hello, Roger Sterling!). You can give them a mercury-glass look with a can of mirror-finish spray paint and just a few simple steps. Here's your quick guide.

What You'll Need:

  • Glass tumblers
  • Mirror-finish spray paint
  • Painter's tape
  • Paper towels
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Water

Step 1: Thoroughly clean the glass tumblers with warm soap and water, then dry. Using the painters tape, make a clean line exposing the area to be painted. Cover the area that will not be painted with paper towels and tape.

Step 2: Mix a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar in a spray bottle. I used a half-cup each. Shake together.

Step 3: Turn tumbler upside down and lightly spray with the vinegar solution. Next, apply a light layer of spray paint to the exposed glass. Allow to dry for one minute.

Step 4: After one minute, dab off freshly painted area with a paper towel. The areas that were treated with the vinegar solution will reveal a crackled effect.
