Go Green With This DIY Greenhouse
Spring is in the air and it's time to go green! Create a tabletop greenhouse for your starter seedlings or to display your pretty succulents. Making your own is easier than you'd think. This project is both pretty, functional and a perfect weekend DIY to celebrate the season.
What You'll Need:
- 6 picture frames 8"x 10"
- Spray paint (optional)
- Super glue
- Super glue accelerator (optional)
- Plants
Instructions:
Step 1: Start by taking your frames apart. Remove the paper inserts and the cardboard backing leaving just the frames and glass. Set the glass aside and paint the frames with spray paint if desired. Paint the backs first and then flip over to spray the fronts. Allow ample drying time between spray paint applications.
Step 2: Once the frames are dry, super glue the glass into the frame using super glue and accelerator (optional)
Step 3: Repeat Step 2 with all 6 of the frames. Let dry.
Step 4: Using your super glue again, glue one end of one of the frames to the side of another frame to create a 90 degree angle. Use accelerator to help with drying.
Step 5: Repeat Step 4 until a square has been created with 4 of the frames. This makes the sides of your green house.
Step 6: Repeat Step 4 again with the last 2 frames to create the roof top.
Step 7: Lastly, glue your roof top to the sides of the green house with a thick coat of super glue and allow for plenty of drying time before moving the greenhouse. Add any extra glue to any spots as needed. Your greenhouse should be moveable and sturdy once you are finished with it.
Fill with plants, flowers, or seedlings (you can access the inside of the greenhouse my reaching your hand through the open part in the roof) and watch them grow!
