Say Happy Holidays With This Tannenbaum Swizzle!
Perk up your cocktail party with a fabulously festive beverage that tastes as good as it looks. Christy Pope, a mixologist who moonlighted at Little Branch, the famed Manhattan speakeasy, partnered with HomeGoods to create this whimsical Tannenbaum Swizzle (it's popular at Caribbean celebrations) with classically dapper barware. Here's how to re-create it at home:
- .5 tsp Green Chartreuse
- 2 oz. Tanqueray Gin
- .75 oz. fresh lime juice
- .75 oz. simple syrup
- .5 tsp. pomegranate molasses
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Sprig of rosemary for garnish
- Cranberries for garnish
- Tall, slim collins glass
- Swizzle stick or extra long spoon
- Ice bucket and scoop
Step 1: Measure ingredients into a Collins glass and top with pellet (crushed) ice.
Step 2: Swizzle with a long spoon to mix drink.
Step 3: Add two dashes of Angostura bitters.
Step 4: Top with more pellet or crushed ice in the shape of a cone.
Step 5: Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a few cranberries.
Tip: Pope suggests serving it in an etched glass for extra panache and using mason jars, filled with extra toppings, so people can make the drink exactly how they like it.
