Inside Celebrity Hairstylist Jen Atkin’s Home Makeover
After going through major renovations to make their Los Angeles home a more minimal, modern space, Jen Atkin, stylist to the likes of Chrissy Teigen and Jessica Alba, and her husband Mike Rosenthal needed to finish the space with furnishings and décor suited to the transformed home. The couple worked with AllModern and Consort Design co-founder Mat Sanders to create an interior that felt refined, but relaxing. “A big part of making it feel so relaxing was the minimization of distractions, so we went with a very mellow palette of white and subdued neutrals, with small pops of black here and there," Sanders says. Their biggest challenge was to make the modern home inviting, but still clean and effortless. See how they pulled it off, below.
Adding playful notes like the lush sheepskin pillows and a chunky knit throw gives your guests a “come crash here" vibe.
Shades of white and gray make for a serene bedroom.
“The Afternoon Bar Stools provide a white-on-white moment, but the lines are classic, so they break up the space, adding character to what could have been a potentially sterile all-white modern kitchen," Sanders says.
“We really love the grey leather armchairs," Atkin says. “They are even more comfortable in person than they appear."
Knickknacks really bring everything together. We love the lacquer decorative box with natural minerals and the round lava vase.
